About the Artists & Speakers
Patrice Lawrence writes books for children and young people of all ages, from picture books to teen thrillers. She's been shortlisted for the Costa Children's Award, the Carnegie Award and many regional awards, and won the Bookseller YA Prize, the Waterstones Prize for Older Children's Fiction, the Little Rebels Award, the Crimefest YA Prize (twice) and the inaugural Jhalak Prize for Children and Young People among other awards. She is passionate about social justice and is an ambassador for the creative writing charity, First Story and a patron of Hastings Literature Festival.
