Chitra Soundar - Ballet Besties Years 2 - 4

Discover the world of Shimmer Shine where five friends learn ballet – and discuss cake! Chitra Soundar will introduce ballet besties and show you NOT how to dance but how to write about dance. Are you ready to write a poem or story about dance? 

Chitra Soundar is an internationally published, award-winning author of children’s books, screenwriter and an oral storyteller. She grew up play-acting and telling stories and has even been a dance extra in a movie in south India. 

Chitra co-wrote Ballet Besties with Yasmine Naghdi, the principal ballerina at the Royal Ballet, to show the importance of dance for all of us to be happy and healthy. It’s a series about friendship, dance and cake. The first book in the series Yara’s Chance to Dance and the second book is Indu’s Time to Shine.
